  1. A local Song - The Farmer's boy.
The following song was composed by Mr. John Murphy, Carrigbeg, Craanford, Co. Wexford, about a poor widow's son who set out from home to seek employment.

To plough and sow, to reap and mow,
    And be a farmer's boy

    If I could get employed,
To plough and sow, to reap and mow
    And be a farmer's boy.

    One favour I do ask,
Shelter me till the break of day,
From this cold and Wintry blast
