Moortown.Oh Moortown my own native place,
I love you as my mother earth,
No place on earth I love so well,
to old Tomhaggard school I went,
Where happy all my days were spent.
But as a man I have grown,
I think of Moortown happy home,
But Moortown you have also changed,
and good old friends are disarranged.
Thank God we're left to say a prayer,
for poor old Cahil who nce lived there.
The good old blacksmith, too, has gone.
We can't replace that honest man
