  1. One night my grandfather and some other men were going to a wake across a field. As they were crossing the field they saw a light in front of them - the light was moving. They heard crying and wailing. My grandfather said it was "the banshee" and they followed her. She led them to the house in which the dead man was and took up her position on the roof. The night was so dark they could not see her but they could easily know where she went from her mournful cry.
