    When the smoke goes straight from the chimney the day will be fine.
    When the sun sinks red in the Summer - time the following day will be warm.
    When the crane crests the hill
    Rain will surely spill
    The waters of the Canal appear black' fore rain.
    If the sky is dark and hanging low the weather will be rainy.
    When the peacock cries the will be bad.
    Whenever the wind blows from Ardagh you may be sure that it will be rainy.
    When a person's corns get sore rain will spill.
    When the plover come inland there will be a storm.
