  1. Long ago the houses used to be built of stone and mud. These houses used to have clay floors. The roof used to be thatched with straw. The fire used to be at the gable wall of the house. There used to be one room and a kitchen in almost every house. The lights used then were rush candles. The bed's used then were called settle beds.
