    About one hundred years ago there was a terrible storm. It was started in the middle of the night when everyone was asleep. The people had to get out of their bed and go out and lie in gripes, because they were afraid their houses would be knocked down on them. The storm lasted for several hours. When it ended the houses were very badly damaged and some were tossed down entirely. Then the people were left homeless. This night has been called ever since then the "night of the big wind".
