  1. The snare is made of fine wire about two feet long. A loop is put on one end of it and twine is tied on the other end, then the twine is put out through the loop and tied to a stick. This snare is left in a field, when a hare will put her head though the loop, it will get tighter as she tries to get away.

    A Bird-Crib
    A crib for catching birds is made of sally sticks. Three sticks are tied together at the top, other sticks are put across from one sticks to the other. Food is put on a board which props up the crib, when the birds hops on this board it falls down and keeps the bird a prisoner.
