  1. One day two men while cutting turf for my father in a small bog beside the village of Ballinalee in County Longford found a barrel containing old butter about four feet down in the bog.
    On the next day they were working very hard and they found an old porter bottle about six feet down in the ground. They broke the bottle and inside it was a note saying six yards away from here there is a pot of gold and silver. The bog was never searched for the hidden treasure.
