    mixed through the flour. Then the buttermilk is poured in and the dough mixed and made into a cake. There is the Sign Of The Cross cut on top of the cake before you put it into the oven.
    The oven has three legs and it is round in shape. It is put to heat while the cake is being made. When the cake is ready there are hot coals put under it and when the cake is put into the oven the lid is put on and it is covered with hot coals too. When the cake is baked the lid is lifted off with the tongs, which is put through the handle which is on the lid. A pair of pot-hooks is hooked on to the sides of the oven to lift it off. Before you take the bread out of the oven a clean cold knife is stuck in the cake and then drawn
