  2. Bird lore
    There are a lot of "willie wagtails, bog lark's, house sparrows and snipes around here. The cuckoo, the corn crake and the swallows come to live here in summer.
    It is a bad sign to see the cuckoo coming early in April.
    It is said that a girl will marry a boy from the direction which she hears the cuckoo for the first time of the year.
    If a cuckoo sings on a bar?.. Tree it is said to "sell your cow and buy corn".
    The swallow builds her nest in the same place every year.
