- Local Marriage Customs
In my young days the marriage service took place not in the morning but in the evening towards dusk. The groom's bride accompanied by some 40 or 50 guests proceeded from the bride's home to the church, returning to the bride's home where they were entertained by feasting and dancing till the early hours of the morning.
