    There were two parties of the McGeoghegans in this locality. They were called the "Commons" and "Darags." The "Darags" used loading-whips and they usually met the "Commons" at a races or at a pattern, and then there would be a great battle and a lot of men on both sides were killed and injured. During the year 1837-38 they were people called "White boys" going through the country plundering and robbing. Most of them were Protestants.
