  1. Local Place Names
    Our farm consists of a number of fields.
    Each of these fields is known by a special name.
    One of them is called the "road field" because it adjoins the road.
    Another is called the "far field" while others are known as the "little field"; "bush field" and "Cleary's field".
    The "bush field" is so called because a lone bush grows in the middle of it
    It is considered unlucky to interfere with this bush.
    People say the fairies reside underneath such bushes.
    We call a field Clearys because people of this name sold it to us.
