    he found a round lump of iron a little larger than half-a-crown.
    This curious piece of iron had a hole in the centre of it and around it carved fish, geese, horses and men.
    A closed tunnel surrounds Newtown Castle. In this tunnel there is supposed to be a raven minding a gold sow and a litter of pigs. Mr Courtney that lived in Kilrush got a priest hanged on an ash tree beside his own castle. This tree is to be seen yet.
