  1. There are several fairy forts around Castlepollard. They are called forts, raths and mounts. They are enclosed by a circular ditch and are about 6 yds in diameter. There is a fairy fort in the field near the school. It is round and there are trees growing around it.
The following is a list of them:-
    Paddock fort
    Dunleavy's fort
    Farnan's fort
    Crioc fort
    Fay's fort
    Moateen moat
    Lynch's fort
    Duff's fort
    Fort of the Rathins
    Fagan's fort
    Boylan's fort
There is no entrance hole in the centre or elsewhere. We never heard of anyone.
