  1. Several cures still survive in this locality:-
    Tooth ache-
    1. by putting a frogs foot on the sore tooth
    2. A tooth from the skull of a dead person.

    Milk left behind by a ferret cures whooping cough.
    2. Meet a man driving a white horse and ask him for a cure.
    3. A red ribbon bought by the god mother of the child and tied round its neck.
    4. Two people of the same name are married they have the cure.

    Running Worm
    This is cured by the "Seventh son". Before being baptised two worms a male and a female must be put in the child's hand and left there to die.

    Thrush
    Child born after its father's death can cure this.

    "Rose" or swelling-
    water from a certain well in Turbotstown near Castlepollard. The water must be "raised" before sunrise
