    English soldiers at Pakenham Hall kept by Captain Pakenham. These soldiers wanted to kill the friars of Multyfarnham. There were also Irish soldiers at the Crooked Wood who had a fort at Ard na h-Earraidhe. To get to Multyfarnham the English men had to ford the Móinín river but the Irish soldiers never let them ford it.
    An English spy told the English soldiers to go round by Streete and come up behind the Irish soldiers. But the Irish heard of this plan and went to meet them. They met them at Bunbrosna where the Irish were defeated. When General Bardon saw that they were been defeated he ran.
    Some poet heard this and made this rhyme.

    Took off his boots the faster to run.
