- (continued from previous page)Now-adays it is quite different. The matches are made long before the wedding takes place. Long ago the weddings used to last for a couple of days.
During the wedding day there used to be a horse-race for a five naggin bottle of whiskey presented by the bride. All guests competed in the race and the winner got the whiskey.
