  2. Long ago there lived a giant at the Raheens. This place is situated a little below Mortimers Castle, in the townland of Faughalstown, and in the Parkenham Hall estate.
The giant was very fond of going to Multyfarnham, the journey was very long round by the bogs, and he decided to make a road across the lake. On a calm day part of the road can be seen under the water, but it is not known whether he finished the road or not.
