    famine set in, as there was nothing else to eat. I think there was very little meat used long ago and if any fish it was ling.
    There would be a great feast of eggs on Easter Sunday. For people would scarcely eat egg all the year.
    Oaten bread was greatly in use then and rye bread in some places and later the wheaten; and with all the rough food people were far healthier.
    Noggins were used for drinking the tea in along ago and they would be scoured with sand.
