    salted meat. Turnips were eaten also. Some people used to eat late at night. They used to eat bread and milk before going to bed. They used to make bracks and currant cakes for Sunday and for friends coming. People long ago used to boil a basin of eggs and each one of them used to eat two or three eggs.
    Tea first came into the district about seventy years ago. Noggins were used before cups became common. They were little wooden vessels with a silver handle and the handle had to be kept shined. It would hold about a quart.
