  1. Once upon a time there was a man and he went every night on céilidhe to another house not far away. He was coming home one night and he went into one field and he could not get out of it. He went round the field about a hundred times and he could not get out of it. He knelt down and he began praying to God. There was a big hole of water in that field and when morning came he found himself at the edge of the hole and if he had gone another step he would be in the water and he would be drowned.
