- On Shrove Tuesday all the people make some pan-cakes. There is a ring put in them and children have great fun trying to get the ring.
- On St Brigid's Day the children dress up the dash of a churn, and go from house to house with it. They dance with the dash in their hands. This is called the Brideóg. This custom is not carried out in my district at present.
- On Ash Wednesday the people go to the Church to get Blessed ashes on their(continues on next page)
