  1. In Rogerstown on the banks of the River Nanny the ruins of an old Chapel is still to be seen. Long ago it is believed that people attended Holy Mass in this building. Some time after a new chapel was built and the old one was abandoned. Mr John Markey kept horses in it after it was left out of use. For a time the horses stayed in the place but then they got restless. Mr Paddy Sheils (the present Mr Paddy Sheils' grandfather) was employed in minding the horses then. Still they could not be kept quiet, and in the end a new shed had to be built and the horses were removed out of the ruins.
