- There is an old custom when a cow calves, holy water and a lighted candle is brought out to the stable by which the hair of the cow's udder is singed.
Sometimes when a man goes to sow corn he shakes holy water on the corn before he sows it.
When a cow is milked it is usual to make the Sign of the Cross on her udder with the froth and say "God bless you."- Collector
