    down a lane.
The bellows is worked from the back of the fire. The top of the bellows is stationary. There is a handle attached to the bottom of the bellows by a piece of chain. This handle rests across a board about a foot and a half from the chain end. If you catch this handle and pull it down, the bottom of the bellows rises up and wind comes out through the wall at the back of the fire. When you let up the handle a weight which is hanging from the chain pulls down the bellows again.
