  1. About 4 miles from Dundalk are the ruins of Dunmahon Castle. It was owned by Fitzwalter during the time of Cromwell. This man had a beautiful daughter named Eve & one of Cromwell's soldiers bribed her for the keys of the Castle. The reason he wanted the keys was because Catholics from the village of Dunmahon used to attend Mass in it.
    They used to approach it unobserved by an underground passage. Cromwell heard this & wanted to catch the Xtians at Mass, so he set a trap for them. The soldier who had the key entered while Mass was in progress. The people had see this man before & paid him no heed. After a while they heard a commotion behind, and looking round
