  1. 4. There once lived in a house on the bank of the R. Fane, a family named the Dundoogans.
It is said that when one of the family died some hundred years ago a very strange thing happened. A man was sent for the priest but before he arrived the person was dead. On his way to the house the priest met the dead man coming running pursued by two hounds. The soul reached the graveyard and then they disappeared. The pries then understood. It was two devils which had pursued the soul, but he knew it was now safe, for it had reached consecrated ground.
