    to take a brash at the churning and when he comes inside the door he had to say "God bless the work". If he does not do this it is said that there will be no butter on the milk.
    The churning takes about twenty minutes. Hot water is sometimes poured into the milk to raise its temperature. When the milk is churned it is poured into crocks. The butter is lifted with a wooden cup and then it is washed. After this the water is squeezed out with butter workers.
