  1. About two miles northwards of Corofin there is a large lake called Inchiquin. it is one of the largest lakes in Clare. There is a legend told about it saying that it was not always a lake.
    Long ago there stood a castle directly where Inchiquin lake is nowadays. A man named Lord Inchiquin lived there. Near the castle there was a well. Every morning he went to the well to drink.
