  1. All the clothes the old people wore were of home manufacture, and nearly all the cloth that made them was home made.
    The stockings were made of the wool of the sheep, The wool was washed, combed, carded, spun with the spinning wheel, and it was then ready to be knitted by hand. Sometimes (they) were dyed.
    The drawers were of home-made flannel.
    The trowsers were corduroy knee britches with brass buttons at the knee, and the stockings coming up to meet it, The long trousers were seldom worn, and it was then with gaiters,
    The shirt was of linen, with a high collar attached, and was worn with usually a black silk cravat,
    The bauneen was of flannel, having no buttons as it was tied by a knot made from the end of it.
    The front of the sleeved waistcoat was of frieze and the back and sleeves were of flannel,
    The jacket was of frieze, and was usually a swallow tail and had two
