- It is said that there were old roads leading to a church in Newtown and in Shanakyle. There is also said to be, in the latter an old stone about three or four feet high which is said to be the base of the Cross of Ballylusky.
- An old industry carried on in this neighbourhood was tweed weaving, weaving friezes and flannels. Probably all the clothes(continues on next page)
