  1. There is a fort near Cloneen where money was supposed to be hidden. Some time ago a man went into the fort with a pick and shovel and began digging in the sport where he thought the money was hidden. He spent the day digging and when the night came, he said he would continue his work the next day, but when the next day came he was ill. His friends sent for a doctor who ordered the man to remain in bed for the next three months. It is said that nobody ever tried to find the gold after that.
