    If he found any stray animals or fowl on the road he would take them to the "pound" in Moneygall. The people of he neighbourhood used say that the dogs and hens would run away when they saw him coming.
    He was said to be a very cruel father too and all his children went abroad except two. One of those, a daughter is living in Roscrea. The other, a son, who was converted to the catholic faith is living on one of hos teants farms and is said to be in very poor circumstances.
