- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)There is blessed well in the townsland of Cappanakeady about a mile in the straight line from this school.
It is said that this well was situated on the side of the hill and somebody disrespected it by washing sheep in it and it moved down and is to be seen by the side of the road at the present day. There is a white thorn tree growing beside the well and they say it is not right to cut it.
The depth of the well is about three feet and the width of it is about one foot and a half. There are flat stones all around it, one at the bottom, one at each side and one on the top. There is also a timber altar there in which there are a few statues and medals.
