- There was a very severe storm on the second of February 1903 which did much damage throughout the country. Several people were left homeless as slates and tiles were taken completely from their houses and in some case were carried a long distance by the high wind. The storm which blew first from the south changed to the north-west by degrees. As the night went on it became very fierce and was at its highest about midnight.
The house where my Grandfather lived was badly damaged by the storm. The end of the house was stripped completely of its slates and tiles. The hay-barn was also damaged and the hay which was stored in it was scattered here and there. Besides the(continues on next page)- Collector
