  1. There is supposed to be a Hidden Treasure in Ballycrinode in Mr. Powell's field. The Treasure is supposed to be under a big oak tree.
    It is said the O'Carroll's of Ely placed it there. It was placed there because there were robbers going through the country. It consists of gold about 4,000 coins.
    Attempts have been made twice to unearth it. A lady appeared and told Paddy of the Forth a man who went in search of it to go home that there were a horse and cart tumbled in the yard. When he went home there was nothing wrong at all. In course of their digging on oneoccasion they hit a flag and a lady appeared they being frightened went home. It is said the lady was small of stature
