  1. In my district there lived a man named Christy Colman. He was a great jumper and a great weight thrower. His address was Christy Colman,Traverstown, Nenagh. He could throw weights a distance of 12 or 15 yds; He could jump a height of 6 feet or more.
    When he was jumping it ws his custom to catch a pole and he use dto spring over the crossbar and if he touched the bar his jump was considered bad. This was known as pole-jumping. It was his custom also when weitht throwing to swing it a couple of times before throwing it.
    Mr. Cormac, Templederry, was a great mower. He could mow over 1 acre with a scythe. He challenged a
