    One of the many old cures is of the seventh son being able to cure rash on a babies mouth.

    or foot and rub it to it. Then put it on a whitethorn tree and when it is withered, the foot or hand is cured then.
    There are many wells round the country, where people invoke the patron saint and tie up pieces of cloth, medals, and other articles on the branches.
    There were old women and men who were called quacks who had the advantage of being efficient at time of sickness as any of the up to date nurses and doctors of to-day.
    These cures which might seem foolish have been successful when everything fails.
