  1. The belief in water-bulls is known in the district but a story relating to the belief has been told not about a well or spring of the locality but about Lough Neagh.
    A water bull kept constant guard over the spring that supplied water to the well of Neagh. The bull vacated the spot; the spring gushed forth uncontrolled and flooded the whole countryside forming Lough Neagh.
