    Between Christmas and Lent is the usual time for getting married in this district. The Unlucky and lucky days are as follows:-
    Monday for health
    Tuesday for wealth
    Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
    Saturday no day at all
    May and August are the unlucky months for marriage. The were matches made There was a dowry of money given to the bride. The marriage took place in the church. The feast was held in the bride's house. Exactly a month after the marriage a feast was held in the bride's house which was called the "hauling-home".
    The were men who used to make matches always in this district. A man who wanted to get married used to ask one of these match-makers to make a match between him and some girl. Straw-boys were not in this district
