  1. The hurling teams in Pallasgreen were parish teams. About 40 or 50 men on either side. The match was played in the parish and was simply between townlands. The ball was hurled from one townland to another. There was no score. The ball was a heavy slither about three or four inches in diameter.
    The hurleys were made of ash.
