  1. "2nd November 1937.
There are two forges in the parish of Pallasgreen.
One of the forges is situated in Old Pallas, the other is situated in New Pallas.
The smith in the forge in Old Pallas is Michael O'Brien and the smith in New Pallas is Martin McInerney.
I know more about the forge in New Pallas than the forge in Old Pallas. Martin McInerney is the smith in the forge in New Pallas. His father his grandfather and his brother were smiths.
The old forge was opposite the old dispensary.
The smith in it was Jim Mulcahy's father. When he died Jim Mulcahy's mother had a journey man smith in the forge until Jim Mulcahy became a smith. There was an old forge"
