  1. One night a girl was going on an errand to a neighbour's house, and on her way she had to pass a moat. She had a young sister, who followed her and she never knew she was following her.
    The girls mother and father thought she had taken her sister with her, to keep her company. When the girl was passing the moat, she met a woman, who appeared to be going in the direction of the moat.
    When the girl came home without her sister, her mother and father were surprised, and they questioned her, and she said she knew nothing about her sister.
    They got a great fright, and they got ready to look for her. They searched the moat carefully but could not find her. When they failed to find her, they then told the parish-priest about what happened.
    He went to the moat, and shook holy water over the place, and prayed. Towards morning they found the child sitting on a trunk of a tree crying. They took her home and she was very frightened after what happened to her. People said that the woman
