  1. Fairs are held in the towns in this locality. They are held once a month on the streets and squares. Tole is paid when animals are sold, about sixpence on each animal and a luck penny is always given. The animals are marked whey they are sold, so as to distinguish them from other animals. Sometimes they are marked with mud or radine and sometimes their hair is cut. There are certain halters made for selling horses. The best fairs in the locality are during March and June.
