On the first of January 1916 a very sever thunder storm broke out. The day before was very warm but the night was heavy and dull. About 11 o'clock in the night when the storm came and the thunder and lightning did a lot of destruction including the knocking down of houses and the killing of many cattle.
About seven years ago another thunder storm came to the district, it knocked down many trees and it also knocked down a portion of the back of the river Deel.
