  1. There was people by the name of Mac Carthy herding cattle over at Coolrus Granagh. Every morning they used to see a mad cow in the yard. The man got leave to kill the cow. When he had her killed he buried her a short distance away from the house. That night at 12 o' clock a knock came to the door. The woman of the house opened the the door and the cow was seen outside the door. The door was locked and all went to bed. A little while after another knock was heard chains came knocking to the window. Dancing and music was heard. When they got up next morning they saw the cow running up the yard and a black dog after her. The cow was owned by the fairies.
