- How Tournafulla got its names.
Long ago when St. Ita had her dairy in Tournafulla it is said that one morning when her donkey was coming home after carrying the milk to Killedy (sic) (Killeedy) a man from Tournafulla frightened it with dogs. The donkey ran across a river and wounded itself. When it went home St Ita was angry and she cursed the place and called it Tournafulla meaning the tour of blood and she also said that Tournafulla would never be without a fool.Cáit Ní Loineacháin- Collector
