[?] to about 90 years ago and he was supposed to be a great mower. One day he and another man were to mow six acres of hay in three hours. So there was a seventh son around at the time. he had a charm so the man whose name was Gussen. The seventh son put the charm in the scythe. They started to mow in the morning; and when they edged there scythes they were mowing grand, and Gussen had a very easy day, and he was able to keep to Ahearn at his dead ease.
Ahearn was all the time asking Gussen for his scythe - stone, but Gussen would not give it or he would loos his charm When they were about two hours mowing tea came to them, Gussen would not give the scythe - stone at all. When they were drinking the tea Ahearn made a spring from where he was sitting whipped the scythe - stone and gave two pulls of it to his own scythe. They had only two acres to cut but Gussen got all he could do to keep up to Ahern for the rest of the day.
