    Long ago there was a church in the present townland of Temple Athea. Two of Queen Elizabeth's soldiers were passing near the church when they were going from Glin to Purt castle. That was about the year fifteen hundred and eighty.
    The monks who used to look after the church heard about the soldiers and they put all the valuable vessels of the church into a cow-skin and then sewed it and buried it in some field near the church.
    Some people have dreamt about the treasure and went in search of it but they were frightened away by something unusual. One man went in search of it and he was frightened away by the bellowing of
